Quick post. Must sleep...
The job interview went fine- if you exclude the fact that the position is actually in Minneapolis (not Bloomington, as I had previously thought,), it took me 45 minutes to get there (with no traffic and no snow), and they want me to work from 9-6 and be willing to put in extra hours to finish jobs during this busy time. It's definitely a no-go. Daycare closes at 5. Tom never gets done with work before 6:30 or 7 PLUS he travels a lot. There would be nobody to pick up my little Weston. I'm happy Tom likes his job and that it is secure, but his long hours and the required travel are certainly making it difficult for me to find something suitable and, unfortunately, he does not earn enough to support us all. I'm very limited to working a job that is between the hours of 7-4 and is within 20 miles of our home due to daycare availability. All my fall back plans (piano lessons, editing, daycare, tutoring, etc..) have fallen through and I'm a worried mess. Having a kid complicates everything! I wouldn't trade life as a momma for my former life, but things are definitely hard right now. It's difficult to articulate what I am going through without coming off as a Debbie Downer..... And so I will be done attempting to articulate it for now.
