Area Flooding

We've had a lot of rain in the last few weeks and as a result, there has been some flooding in the area. Hwy 41 has been closed the last couple days and since we live so nearby and the weather was so beautiful this morning, we decided to walk down to the river to check it out. Normally the river is on the other side of the trees, but in the picture below you can see that the river comes right up to the walking path. The walking path we usually take was completely flooded over. Normally, we can cross beneath the bridge but you can see in the photo that the water comes up almost to the bridge. Further down the road, the water was high enough that it was actually flowing over the bridge. There were quite a few people checking out the scene. One couple even brought a picnic basket and set up camp right in the middle of the blockaded highway.

Weston and I had a little photo shoot on the front lawn with a pretty leaf I found on our walk. It was a beautiful fall day today!
