The "Situation"

Don't let his sweet face fool you! While there are a lot of times that Weston is undeniably precious (like right now, as he sleeps soundly in my lap), there are times when I want to pull out my hair! He's generally a very sweet little boy but as he gets closer to the Terrible Twos, we are encountering more public "situations". His antics at church this week are a prime example.

Our church has recently started putting up a projector with a live video feed so that families with small children can watch mass downstairs. It's a modified cry room and it has been a lifesaver for us. We went directly to the church basement for our mass via video link only to find out that the system was broken! My inner voice screamed, "NNOOOOOO!!!!," and we headed back upstairs. I stood in back of church, holding Weston for about 5 minutes before the screaming started. I had no choice but to retreat to the basement. Once we were downstairs, Weston ran laps around the tables for 15 minutes. I'm not kidding. He ran laps. LAPS! At full speed! For 15 minutes! It was like someone had injected him with caffeine! He seemed happy so I thought I'd give upstairs another try. I scooped him up and off we went. The screaming started as soon as we were back in the main part of church. Back downstairs we went. Weston went back to running laps. It wasn't long before he discovered the wheelchair ramp. He was getting lots of speed as he ran down the ramp. He loved it. He was running and giggling, and running and giggling, and having a grand old time. And then the terribleawful happened. He gained so much momentum that he couldn't stop and he planted head first into a wooden table. Ouch. Tom said he could hear the screams from upstairs.

I'm hoping this is just a phase. Please, Dear God, let this be a short phase!
