Two Blog Posts in One Day?

Yes, I say!
I figured I would go for a second post since I have the time today and once the week starts, well, time seems to slip out of my grasp rather quickly. Last weekend I spent some time with a group of my best female friends. We had a great time chatting, playing games, and lounging by the pool. I also helped host a baby shower for my friend, Lily, on Sunday. I wanted to make another fondant cake so I decided Lily's shower was a good opportunity. Here is my first baby shower fondant cake:

It was a 4 layer chocolate cake with chocolate chip icing between the layers. This was my first cake that had two tiers to layer and it went smoothly! I'm getting really into this cake decorating thing but it seems that I don't have the necessary tools to keep up with my ideas. I've been browsing on the Wilton site and I am finding all sorts of cool gadgets and cake pans. Maybe I'll splurge and get some bigger pans one of these days. I dream of being able to make BIG cakes. I really want to try my hand at a three tier wedding cake but I need to get some better cake pans first. And I suppose I would need to find somebody who is having a wedding, too. And somebody who is OK with a cake made by an amateur... Maybe I can start a business! I'll play piano for the wedding ceremony and make the cake for the reception. Maybe. I have to get a piano first. On that note (Ha. Note.), today Tom and I purchased the last of the supplies to finish the basement. As soon as the basement is finished, I'll be on the hunt for a cheap or free piano.

The next pictures are all from the weekend outing that I had with my friends.

It was ravioli night. My little guy made quite the mess. He went straight to the tub after this meal!

This picture sort of reminds me of the most recent Batman movie and the bad lipstick job on the Joker character. It's a little creepy. Westonator is definitely cuter than Joker :)

There was a teeny tiny toad on our porch! Weston had a good time with the toad. There may be a video post on that in the future.

The tomatoes that we grew on the front porch. We picked them right after this picture and then we ate them right away. Why can't produce from the grocery store taste like these?!? There is something so refreshing and beautiful about veggies straight from the garden.

My lettuce. I found it shriveled up a few weeks ago but it has made a valiant comeback!

Playing in the yard

We rarely get a photo of all three of us. Our neighbor happened to be outside and offered to take our picture. This picture makes me smile!
