I realized this evening that November is nearly half over. Considering my last post was about halloween, I figured I was due for another. When I went to my camera to see what pictures had been captured over the last two weeks, I realized I had only taken these three! And actually, I didn't take any of them. Tom took all three.
Snuggle time
Tired boy. He can sleep just about anywhere as long as he has his blue blanky.
I may not have many pictures tonight, but I can share a couple of Weston stories with you. At All Saints Day mass, I carried Weston up to communion with me. He normally tries to reach for the host but doesn't act too crazy. I don't know what got into him this particular day, but he felt it necessary to scream out loudly, "Yummy! Want some!" as I was receiving communion and then he whimpered all the way back to the pew muttering, "Weston eat some circle."
Tom always tells Weston that our cars are hungry when we are filling up at the gas station. Weston has really taken this to heart. I have caught him trying to feed his toy cars several times. He always says something like, "Feed the cars. Cars is hungries. Wants some gas." I even caught him filling up his red car with a baby bottle- right on the side where the gas tank should be.
The biggest Weston news is that he had his first poopy on the toilet! We haven't been very gung-ho in efforts to get him potty trained. I've found that it has mostly been a big waste of time. He seems to have no interest in sitting on the toilet and he never has to go during the times I have an opportunity to sit in the bathroom with him. As I was getting him ready for bed last night, I noticed that he had to go poopy so I dragged him to the bathroom and got everything set up for him. He sat on the toilet for a few minutes and then started to get really bored so I brought in some books and toys to keep him occupied. Before long, he looked at me and said, "Poop! Want diaper!" I could see that he was holding it in because he wanted me to get him a diaper. I held his shoulders firmly and told him to use the toilet and...he did! We were both pretty happy about it. I rewarded him with a sticker and then talked some more about being a big boy and using the toilet. I don't know if the trend will continue, but at least we made one major step in the right direction!
