Pics From Our Latest Adventures

I feel like we were ALL OVER THE PLACE in August. It was such a fun month and the weather allowed us to get out of the house a lot and spend time with family and friends. Rather than write a post about each event, here are some pics of some of our recent adventures.
"I will wear these on my head, just like Mommy does. Oh, they are for your EYES! I look like a bug.  Why does Mommy think these look good?"
A Canterbury Park adventure with Jaci and Olivia, as well as the rest of the ITT crew.
This is from the play zone at the community center. I love how colorful these balls look in the picture! I have a hunch that this ball pit is where I lost the diamond from my wedding ring two weeks ago.  I went back there to look for it without success :(
We went on a mini golf adventure with Jamie. There's a fun little place on Flying Cloud, just outside of EP. Thanks for a fun time, Jamie!

Weston hung out in his stroller most of the time, always holding at least one golf ball.  I think he liked watching us.  At one point, he escaped and ran over to another woman.  He hugged her leg and exclaimed excitedly, "Mommy!". The poor woman just stood there, not knowing what to do.  I got there as quickly as I could to rescue her leg from our confused child.
I was doing great until this stupid hole got the best of me.
This is Jamie raking her ball out of the sand trap.
Weston hanging out with Grams and Grandad.
Nice try, Daddy. I think you outgrew that slide a quarter of a century ago...

My monkey hanging from the playground.  He's even wearing his monkey shirt.
This is from the "Touch A Truck" event.  We were so excited to take Weston because he loves playing with his trucks at home.  When we got there, he spied the park across the street and would have nothing to do with the trucks. He only cared about getting to that park so he could go down the slide.  We were able to get him to sit still for a bit with an ice cream cone.  They had free cones, free hot dogs, and free popcorn and then lots of city trucks for kids to explore.  The older kids were able to check out a bus, an ambulance, a police car, a fork lift, a bulldozer... and couple other things that I can only refer to as "digging vehicles".  I think he'll be more into it next year.
 A hot, sticky mess.
This is Weston begging and crying for the slide while we try to take advantage of a nice photo op.
A nice pic we took of ourselves while Weston played on the playground.

STATE FAIR!!! We went last Saturday.  There were throngs of people, despite temperatures into the 90s. Of course, we would happen to go on the most heavily populated day of the fair.  We were 3 in crowd of 226,863.  Did you know the Minnesota State fair is the most highly attended state fair in the country?  I think it is because of the Australian potatoes....or maybe Rutana's apple dumplings... or possibly because of Danielson & Daughter's onion rings.  I looooove fair food!
Learning the fine art of people watching.
The barns were extra stinky in the heat and humidity so we didn't visit them very long.    We were at the fair for over 12 hours! I did manage to step in some horse poop, and someone threw up during our bus ride home, but those things can be overlooked because the food was SO AMAZING.
Hanging out at the EP mall.

Weston riding the grandpa horse.

Whew!  I think that does it.  I'm finally caught up on blogging.  Stay tuned for my next blog post on making your own laundry detergent!  We did it this last weekend and my first load is in the wash as I type this.
