I figured I better post something before you all start to suspect that our entire family has been taken hostage by alien beings and transported to another planet. We've been making it through the days and just waiting for spring to get here! Spring is looking extra desirable this year. Sure-green grass, chirping birds, and lighter clothing are great- but what I'm really looking forward to is the end of Tom's travel season and his graduation! Plus, I will be done using my Saturdays to judge speech tournaments. Though I enjoy judging and the extra money is helpful, it's exhausting! I know our lives will be so much less hectic two months from now. It feels so close, and yet so far away. One day at a time... one day at a time... one day at a time. This has been my mantra lately :)
One of Tom's most recent travel experiences included a fun (or not so fun) little adventure. Tom had to check his luggage on his last trip. This was the only time in the last two years that an airline has asked him to check his luggage. Apparently the plane was just very full and he was boarding a bit late, so they thought it would be easier to have him check his luggage rather than go up and down the aisles in search of room for his baggage. You all know where this story is going, right? Needless to say, his luggage did not make it back with him to MSP. In fact, he spent an hour waiting for his bag to appear at the baggage claim before realizing that he was waiting for nothing! The bag and its contents were returned to us in one piece a couple days later. I just have to laugh at the fact that the one time Tom had to check his luggage it got sent to the wrong place. That's funny, right? I suppose it is even more funny when the luggage isn't your own :)
Weston seems to have finally fully recovered from his rash/infection/cold. He's so much cuter when his nose isn't runny and crusty. And he is also more pleasant to be around when he isn't feeling so crummy. His foray into the world of real food is expanding daily and his repertoire now boasts such items as noodles, apples, cheese, blueberries, tatertots.... and pretty much anything else that we happen to be eating. We still have a lot of rice cereal in the cabinet as well as a lot of frozen homemade baby food in our freezer. He's getting past the stage of strained food so I'm trying to use it all up before he refuses it all together.
I gave Westonator a little hair cut tonight. He looks even more like a boy and less like a baby now :( I know it's cliche, but I really can't believe how fast he is growing. It's amazing! He gets a whole new wardrobe every three months. I still consider anything in my wardrobe that is less than a year old to be 'new'!
So.... that's about it. Nothing too crazy/new/exciting/newsworthy has happened to us lately. I have taken some pictures but I don't have the time to upload them tonight. Perhaps I will share them with you later in the week. I just wanted to make a quick post to let you know that we have not been abducted by aliens. We're just really stinking busy!
