5!

FIVE is the number of times in a row that Weston had used the toilet to go #2.  YAY!  Though it seems like we are making progress, it dawned in me pretty quickly that allowing him to use the toilet actually takes longer and is much more messy than changing a diaper.  But, I don't want to hinder the forward progression so we're going to keep going with this whole toilet training thing. I've talked to friends and done some research online and learned that it's typically easier to train kids how to go #1 first because it takes them longer to master the art of going #2.  I guess we're going to be backwards! We are going to keep encouraging Weston to use the toilet every time he needs to go #2 and we'll start to work on the #1 training as soon as he shows an interest.
I'm always finding toys in the bathroom these days.  Weston doesn't like to be completely alone when he's in there, but he won't go if Tom or I are standing in the bathroom.  Usually a truck or stuffed animal will do the trick.
He still loves his big monkey.  He's been sleeping with it every night for the last couple of weeks.  I swear it takes up half his crib.  I don't know how he can be comfortable with a giant monkey on his back all night (har har).

Weston and Mommy

We're gearing up for a very cold week here in Minnesota.  Weather reports are predicting a high of -3 for Tuesday.  Yes, a NEGATIVE 3. It hasn't been that cold for four years!  We plan on staying in and eating lots of warm comfort foods.  I already started us off by making homemade chicken noodle soup today. Only 60 days until spring equinox!
