I've been cutting Weston's hair on my own for awhile. He had a lot of hair when he was born so it wasn't too long before I took my first attempt at trimming his hair. My first attempt did not go so well but after 18 + months of hair cuts, I am actually starting to get pretty good at it. Up until today, he had never had his hair cut by anybody else. If you know me, you know I would never spend my hard earned money on a hair cut for a toddler (especially when I can do it myself at home for free!). However, a new SportClips location opened in town and we received a flyer that had a coupon for a free hair cut. Score (sport pun intended)! The coupon was good for two months so I've been letting Weston's hair grow...and grow...and grow some more. Today we decided it was time to cash in on our free hair cut. Here are a bunch of recent pictures to show how long his hair was getting.
His hair looks really wavy in this picture!
This was in the car right before we went in to SportClips
We practiced saying "cut hair" as we drove to the salon. Salon? Would you call it that? Maybe barber is more appropriate? Anyway, by the end of the trip Weston was reciting, "Cut hairs. Cut hairs. Comb hairs. Cut hairs," as he tugged on his little locks.
"Cut hairs!"
He was so good! The woman cutting his hair said she was really surprised. I tipped her well because she was AMAZING with him (plus I felt kind of bad not paying for the hair cut...I think that is how they get you!). I wasn't sure how the hair cut was going to go because sometimes he melts down when I cut his hair at home. I remember one particular time where the hair cut had to be broken into three different sessions because he was so wiggly and impatient. SportClips was nice because there was a lot to look at. Weston was pointing out all the different balls that were displayed. He even got a sucker while we waited in line. He really had a good time and I was relieved that he behaved so well.
