Weston The Cookie Monster +Temporary End to the Car Conundrum

It's so amazing to be able to communicate with Weston more now that he is talking a lot! I love that he can actually tell us when he wants something. For example, he will now ask for the following items: cuppy, blanky, cheese, apple, yummies and,the clincher, COOKIES. He just learned the word on Saturday after I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies. He had a few cookies on Saturday and now he asks me for cookies ALL THE TIME. Apparently the cookies were good enough to make a lasting impression. If he doesn't get a cookie when he asks (which is every ten minutes), he usually throws himself on the floor and bangs his head a few times. Even the day care lady commented about it. She said that he asked for a cookie every time she put him in his high chair today. I've created a little cookie monster!

In other news, we have decided against purchasing a new vehicle for now. I am a little sad about that but I am relieved to have come to some sort of a conclusion so I can quit thinking about cars for awhile. I was beginning to spend an unhealthy amount of time researching cars and it was a major distraction for me both at work and at home. Tom and I have decided to put some money into old blue to keep her running for a bit longer. We came to this decision after our tax appointment last Friday when we learned that we would not be getting the refund we had been planning on. Instead of a refund, we ended up owing a substantial chunk of change to the state of Minnesota. This news took the wind right out of our sails and we quickly decided that it wasn't the right time for us to make a major purchase. It stinks to dump money in to an old car, but it's the right choice for us right now. I just hope and pray that the car makes it another year after we splurge to do the needed maintenance and repairs!
